The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce along with the Oceanside Harbor District, Cox Communications, San Diego Ford Dealers and Genentech will present the annual Oceanside Harbor Days celebration on October 2nd and 3rd at the Oceanside Harbor.
Visitors will enjoy popular events including Pirates Cove, live entertainment, arts and craft exhibits, great food and fun activities for the entire family. The event is open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day.
Although the event will have a new look (all booths and events will be consolidated to the South Harbor beach and parking lots) the two-day celebration will continue to offer all the fun and excitement that everyone has come to expect over the years.
Musical entertainment is scheduled throughout the weekend, along with “Nail ‘n’ Sail” a boat construction and sailing competition, fishing derby and outrigger canoe races. Our local Camp Pendleton heroes from the Navy and Marine Corps will have military vehicles on display and the Oceanside Fire Department will also exhibit fire trucks and equipment.
In keeping with this year’s theme “A Pirate’s Playground”, Captain Jack Sparrow will emcee the Opening Ceremony at noon Saturday. Pirates Cove will include roving pirates young and old, a pirate stilt walker, a puppet show and story time with the younger set.
An impressive and beautiful sailing ship, The Californian, the Official Tall Ship of the State of California, will sail in from San Diego and spend the weekend at the harbor.
